Remember that...? Part 2

Written 5-27-01

Obscured Cartoon #2 (and #3)-

Ok, im lying, i dont remember this one at all. I mean, who actually knew there was a one year spree of Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoons. I admit that i've only seen the Super Mario Bros. Super Show and Captain N, but not this! I wish i had.

I'll state this briefly: This cartoon was made from Nintendo's NES game "Super Mario Bros. 3". It's really a sequel to "The Super Mario Bros." cartoon. King Bowser Koopa has come back to the Mushroom Kingdom for revenge. With him, he brought many more allies as well as his seven koopalings: Cheatsea, Big Mouth, Kootie Pie, Hop, Kooky, Hip, and Bulley. (Hey those weren't the koopa kid's names from the game!!!!) Then of course entered Mario and Luigi, along with Toad's and Princess Toadstool's help, protect the kingdom with their new super powers. This cartoon was watched and loved by children and teenagers supposedly, if they ever heard of it. Either because it went along with the game, brought the characters to life, or they wanted to know what happened after the final episode of "The Super Mario Bros.".

Alas, i missed out once again on the coolest TV shows...and to make me even more jealous, i stumbled on this next requiem

Again, this cartoon was made from Nintendo's NES games "The Legend of Zelda" and "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link" and was shown every Friday as part of "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" show. Ok, now im recalling it... "Hyrule, the kingdom, was peaceful until Ganon, an evil wizard, stole the Triforce of Power from the palace. Fortunately, he didn't get a chance to grab the Triforce of Wisdom, but he was to come back for it. Princess Zelda asked a young warrior, Link, to help her and her father get the Triforce of Power back and protect the Triforce of Wisdom. Using their special powers, Zelda and Link fight Ganon and his monsters, each trying to get the other's triforce. Along the way, Zelda and Link fell in love with each other (romantic Link?): Link always asking for a kiss, but never gets one and Zelda acting like she doesn't like Link (that bee-otch!)."

Oh well, before i jet to the movies, here's a bit that i thought would be interesting for you nostalgic wanna-bes: Sound America Try it. Go ahead. Its got tons of links to the old theme songs for cartoons and stuff. Its great!
