The End of My Starcraft Career
Written 12/27/00 9:05 pm
Ah, the sweet victory over an obsession has been procured. Yes, you heard it.
Skruffy finally flushed Starcraft to its homely grave. For those who speak english, thats
translated as "I quit this game."
Skruffy became addicted to this game because he "always had a sweet spot for long epic
battle games." Skruffy said he must have spent a week in overall time playing this.
A week is a long time given the chance to be pondered over correctly.
This draws you to a question. Why did Skruffy give it up so suddenly?
Skruffy answered, "It just hit me one day. I suddenly was playing and realized that i
would never be good at this game, This is a totally gay way to spend my time.
Oh sure there are some people who were good at this.
Not me...and no i didnt suck. Try me on Red Alert or TA or Rainbow 6."
After the last game, He immediately commenced to shred any evidence of cancerous application.
Delete! There it went, all 100+ megs of it into recycling bin,
and to make sure he didnt have any lasting regrets of deleting it, Skruffy emptied the recycling
bin. There it was, all evidence had vanished.
Then we asked Skruffy what he will do next for his free time. He curtly replied:
"There are better ways to spend my time." Before heading for the refridgerator, he named a few.
How To End a Starcraft Obsession in Two Easy Moves
"Hey, i quit my job because i wanted free time, i shouldn't be wasting it," said the
disgruntled gamer, busy filing his fingernails. He brought me over to his desk to review
his digital pictures of him breaking his burned copy of Brood War. It was utter chaos for
any Starcraft lover.
Skruffy produced a wrinkled notepad from behind the computer monitor that contained a list
written in sloppy handwriting. "There are good ways to waste time other than starcraft.
I could read radio shack catalogues and auto magazines. I could listen to Ace of Base
or the Lion King soundtrack. Theres always time for laying down on the floor looking
at the ceiling, heck, theres even time to waste solving the rubiks cube...
Moral, advice? Skruffy suggests that if you play a game more than 5 hours and still can't
get good at it, then just drop it before it causes epilepsy.
